Ok, we had our interview and all went well, we're just waiting for her green card to come (it was on 11-01). To refresh the subject, Betty came here on a tourist visa and we married on her second trip back (the very last day of her I-94).

The interviewer was a young (to me-haha) man, very nice. Asked a few stock questions like why did you marry him

(love of course), have you met his family (yes) and do you live together. Of course we took our photo album (huge).

I know other people have all kinds of horror stories but his areas of concern boiled down to two: can you prove you

co-habitate together (we had a copy of our lease, this was exactly what he was looking for and gave him much relief) and do you have pictures of both of you with family members and best friends; lots of pics of the marriage were a big plus. Strangley her employment card came a few weeks before our interview in her married name; he took it back saying her green card would cover this. Also, he said her card would be in her Maiden name (not sure why but we're too happy right now to fight it). Also, when I asked about early parole he said she could travel immediatly with the green card (stamped her passport with a temporary 30 day pass). So all in all we're pretty lucky; to all of the rest of you keep trying and best of luck (it really does come down to that in the end).

Love to all-Jim and Betty

Yeah, our comprehensive and chronologically arranged photo array was undoubtedly a bonus - as was Sumiko's prior refusal to join the Communist party. ;) We only had two wedding photos, though family members and friends were well represented in other pics. And, our assortment of wedding cards was probably a boon.
