Hi All,

We are in the process of filing AOS (Adjustment of Status) documents and of course we have some questions. I'll post them in different topics, so that there's no confusion. First one on the list - G-325A Bio Info form.

1. Stupid questions, but since we got married, obviously we should put my wife's NEW (i.e. MINE) last name in the form?

2. Social Security Number - we didn't try to get it before the marriage and did it afterwards with wife's NEW last name. We are probably going to file AOS before she gets SSN (up to 4 weeks), so is it ok to file without it? Should we wait or maybe put something like "pending" in the field?

3. Another stupid question, but for husband obviously she should put me? The confusion comes from the fact that I got used to the whole "fiancee" thing.

4. "Last Address outside the US of more than one year" - just her last address in her home country, right? "of more than one year" confuses me.

5. For employment - should we put "currently not employed" in the first line? We can't put her last job there because "To" field has "Present Time".

6. This form is submitted in connection with an application for "Status as Permanent Resident" right? Or should be mark "Other" and write "Adjustment of Status"?

Sorry for naive questions and thank you all!

Pak

This is an AOS question, so should be posted to that forum, NOT K-1 forum.

1) YES

2) We got SSN after marriage in married name by showing K-1 visa, I-94, and marriage cert to the clerk at the SSA office. SSN is not needed to file AOS, but it is useful for other things like adding a person to bank accounts, etc..

3) Yes Husband is YOU

4) Correct.

5) Correct

6) Correct

There is a good example G-325A in the example form section under AOS.
