Traveling before getting the Biometrics Notice

Hello,

got my wife's NOA on Thrusday which is great.. we are planning an international trip very soon. My question is how long after the NOA do we get the Biometrics notice? I just don't want to plan the trip and then while we are away we get the Biometrics notice and miss it. If you miss your Biometrics date, can you retake it again at a later date?

Thanks for your help.

You might be able to do a walk in at your local CIS office. My Bio was scheduled on 11/02/2007, but thanks to the staff members at San Francisco office i was able to do it on 10/23/2007. You should give it a try.

Good luck

Usually bio notice arrives a week later from NOA.

It all depends on how busy is the ASC that you will be assigned to. I got my biometrics letter about one week after my NOA. However, I have heard of some VJ members who had to wait from 2-4 weeks before they got theirs.

08/17/08: Mailed N400 to TSC

08/19/08: USPS attempted delivery

08/20/08: TSC received N400

08/21/08: TSC cashed check

09/02/08: Received NOA...........Priority date: 08/20/08

09/02/08: Received Biometrics Notification

09/18/08: Biometrics completed - Charlotte DO

10/24/08: Received Interview Letter

12/08/08: Interview @ 1:00pm. APPROVED!

01/05/09: Oath Ceremony 10:00AM. Now officially a USC!!!
