On my wife's birth certificate her fathers name is Darshan Singh. However, when i got the marriage certificate, on the certificate her father's name was Darshan Singh Sandhu. So when filling out the G325A i used Sandhu as her fathers last name.

Now I am worried because everywhere else like on her passport and school forms, her fathers last name is Singh. So when filling out other forms like DS230 or 156 I don't know which last name to use. Will the consulate make a big fuss if her fathers last name doesn't match on the G325A and 230 or 156.

I had a similar issue with my husband's last name (not using his surname, but instead going by his middle name of Singh). What we ended up doing was, since he wanted to go with his middle name, getting his passport with his middle name as his last name. Then filling out the G325A and everything else with his middle name as his last name, but indicating on the G325A that he had gone with a prior name which included his surname. As long as you put down the other names used in the past, I think it will be OK - especially since in India this seems to be a common thing. Hope this helps!
