Doubtless true, I don't think anyone thinks it was a 'nice' thing to do, but as I pointed out, abuse within marriage has led to a lot worse than an excrement tainted curry. If she is happy to now be out of the situation, good luck to her and I don't begrudge her a smile.

That being said, I sincerely hope that while in court she took the proceedings seriously, and would think twice before doing something similar.

I'll never understand people who stay in a relationship when the feelings have soured to such a point that you're abusing your spouse. Seems to me that a person has to have pretty low self-esteem to stick with someone that they loathe. I guess people like to build the bars to their own cage rather than actually acknoledging and addressing their problems.

No, it's not easy to understand if you have never been in any kind of abusive relationship. It's not always low self esteem, but is about manipulation. Some people are very good at manipulation and it's not pretty.
