My fiancee and I will get married in January. She is a grad student but she is graduating in May. She has been earning 20K for the last 2 years. I am (Turkish citizen) making more than the poverty line.

Can I still sponsor myself even though she may not be earning any money after May 2008?

Should we look for a co-sponsor from the beginning?

PS: She is applying for a pharmacy school but we wouldn't know if she is accepted until March. If not, she would look for jobs.

Since your fiancee is sponsoring you for the green-card the US Citizen MUST be primary sponsor, you can add your income to help by filing an I-864A form, but the US Citizen MUST file I-864 to adjust status based on marriage to a US citizen.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

The I-864 (submitted by the USC spouse in the case of a marriage-based adjustment) is completed based upon circumstances at the time of filing.

If there is a change of circumstance between the initial filing of the affidavit and the interview (new jobs on either the part of the sponsor or the immigrant) then a new I-864 should be submitted at the interview.

Thanks,

If things change before the interview we will submit new I-864.

My question was more towards me filling out I-864A since my fiancee will not meet the poverty requirement. I can do this right?
