For my I-134 do I have to show proof on why I did not file taxes for 2006?

If so how do I get this?

Also I plan to be with my fiance' for our interview. Will I be allowed to go in with him?

I suppose it would depend on why you did not file taxes in 2006. Were you a student? Were you unemployed? Were you self employed? As far as Ive seen, the tax records are more of a big deal on the I-864 down the road.

Some consulates allow you to accompany your fiance(e) to the interview, some do not. I would ask some of the other VJ'ers who dealt with the same consulate if they were allowed to attend with their SO.

I should think not (but someone correct me if Im wrong). If you had no income, then you have nothing to provide. As long as you (and a co-sponsor if you have one) can cough up evidence that you currently have enough dough to meet 125% of the poverty level, then you're fine.

On down the line, I believe the I-864 requires x number of years worth of tax returns (or maybe it was our picky consulate).
