Again a bit hearty thank you for all the good wishes

rebeccajo....good to see you too :) ..... Hope everything is fine and dandy with Wes and yourself ... Do you see any of the other "class of 2005" kids ;)

I always mean to come back here and maybe answer a few questions ...help out as others helped Cathy and myself, but I hardly get time to sit at a computer ( one of my 3 step kids is usually on the darn thing when I do get chance) let alone sit and read the threads ...although last night, having taken some vacation time from work I did read through the forums .....nothing changes ..... thousands of people desperate to be with their loved ones ...kept apart by red tape and bureaucracy ...my heart goes out to them and I wish I could help them all ..being in love is the finest feeling of all ....

Went to work today and passed on the news that I was staying put in the USA etc..etc .... I got a promotion :o They had held back till now ..and boom there we are ....

Again ..great to see you rebeccajo you must have helped thousands of people by now ...Cathy says your one of those little angels that just makes the world a better place (F)

OMG Paul, that's wonderful news.

There was a very short conversation in chat the other nite about whether or not it was really a big deal to be waiting on your greencard. Some of us were conjecturing that probably the biggest disadvantage was the perception of the immigrant in society and business because the lack of the card seems to indicate 'non-permanence'.

And as you say - lo and behold - once you informed your employer that you were granted permanent residency, they coughed up a promotion.

Wes also mysteriously received a job offer after he was able to state on his updated resume' (to a company he had interviewed with previously) that he was a legal permanent resident.

BTW - we closed out the sale of our present home last Friday and closed on the sale of our new place yesterday. We're downsizing and moving back to the city.
