I officially love all dogs and other animals, no matter how vicious.

Oh yeah, and I'm totally against dog fighting.

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Mother Saves Baby from Pit Bull Attack

Posted September 6, 2007 at 8:45 a.m.

FREMONT (KRON) - A mother is recovering after a pit bull attacked her and her 4-month old son. To protect her son during the mauling, 32-year-old Angela Silva put her child into a nearby trash can, saving him from any major injuries.

Silva, a special-education teacher, says that she was holding her son, Tom Jr., when she went to clean her car in the garage. The dog, which belongs to a next-door neighbor, entered through the open garage door and lunged at her and her baby.

In an interview with KRON 4's Jonathon Bloom, the mother said she tried to take the brunt of the hits to save her child, ""I blocked him by getting down on my knees and I put my arms up so that the dog would continue to attack me rather than go for my son."

Due to severe injuries sustained to her arms, Silva has received 50 staples and countless stitches.

A neighbor in the area told Bloom that this isn't the first time this dog has attacked and it has created a sense of unrest in the area, "I just feel like it's not even safe in the neighborhood. We have little kids that go around in this neighborhood, and there's no way they could defend themselves form a pit bull like that."

Though police have asked for the dog to be turned in, the owners claim it ran away.

Silva believes they are hiding it and asks for an apology to be more than just a verbal acknowledgement, ""If they want to be sorry, put that dog down. Don't hide it. It hurts me to know it's still alive."

I guess this might be put forward as an example of good parenting? ;):P
