Actually, it's interesting. I know a GOP mayor in a town near where I am and he's heard the same thing from his contacts in the party.

************ NEW POST

Gary, it's great that we know what Fred has to say. Question is, what has he done? Is his resume as weak as Senator Clinton's?

Cool, actual votes!

Voted YES on prioritizing national debt reduction below tax cuts. (Apr 2000)

Voted YES on Balanced-budget constitutional amendment. (Mar 1997)

Eh? Yes in 1997 to a balanced budget amendment and then Yes on prioritizing tax cuts above debt reduction?

Voted NO on prohibiting job discrimination by sexual orientation. (Sep 1996)

This is troubling.

You could say the same thing about Romney representing the will of the electorate on abortion, the people of Massachussets. But for some reason for him it's flip-flopping.

If Thompson was so unwaivering on abortion he would have turned the job down.

Dig up whoever you like, as long as we are drilling for oil in ANWR and find a permanent place for nuclear waste.

BTW - does the whole flag burning thing irritate anyone else? I mean, why is this an issue? Who cares if a few smelly hippies or asexual anarchists burn the flag anyway? Don't we have bigger things to worry about like the damn budget and all these wars we like to get into?

And does anyone else think we need a clear national policy on when and why it's acceptable to put American soldiers into battle? After the *ahem* misadventures of our current Commander in Chief, I think it's time for clear constitutional guidelines.
