Hi Everyone

How many Police Certificates does my Brazilian Fiancee need?

Local, and Federal? She lives in Brasilia. I have heard she needs both??

my So was from near there. She needs the state(Goias) and the federal. There was an expiration on them. I have heard that the consolate does accept them if they are like 6 months old. But I think there is an expiration of like 90 days on them. Don't hold me to this. I remember there were some forms on the brasil consolate website ,In portuguese, that your SO can use to request the certifiactes at the police station. She requested hers about 60 days prior to the date we thought her interview would be. This way they would be current. i remember that one of them took longer than the other. I forget which. Actually thinking about it. Since Brasilia is the capital I'm wondering if they actually belong to a state. Just like DC's residents here, I don't think they technically are residents of any state. could be wrong. I would get both if it was possible. Also i think your SO will have to get a certificate from any other state she lived in for more than 6 months since she was above the age of 16 or was it 18. You gotta look for the details. Hoped this helped a little.. Don't take my word as the truth, research... the consolate website is not bad.

Did you ever figure this out? Does it have a 3 month expiration?
