Hey everyone!

So my fiancé and I are going through the whole K1 visa process right now. The Paris embassy received my case yesterday, and now I’m just waiting for them to email me with my interview date.

If my interview happens to take place around June/July, my fiancé and I would like to book a wedding venue as soon as we know the interview date (we would like to book a venue for mid-November).

I would like to know if some people have done the same thing because I know it could be risky to do so as delays can happen.

Please let me know about your experience!

It seems you understand the financial risks involved, but do be aware the actual legal marriage must occur within 90 days of entry.  That means that if the obtains the visa in June or July, she must not enter the USA sooner than mid August.  90 days is a hard and fast rule for a K1 visa holder.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

Sorry I should have clarified that we are planing on getting married at the courthouse as soon as I arrive in the US, then we would do an actual wedding in November
