Hi all, I'm trying not to panic; I received an RFE on my Form I-485 regarding my joint sponsor.

The RFE stated they couldn't determine whether the joint sponsor is qualified.

They requested:

  • 2024 tax returns
  • All supporting files for 2024 tax returns
  • Assets (can't use)

He didn't meet the 2024 Poverty Guidelines, but did in 2023 and 2022. In 2025, he exceeded the poverty guidelines by around $3000 we dont have tax returns from 2025 yet. But as a response to the RFE I'm planning to submit the last 6 months of his pay stubs (YTD), employment letter, and January 2026 pay stubs (YTD) as well, along with a cover letter explaining the situation about his employment.

Is this a good approach for this type of RFE?

Or should I wait for my sponsor to file his 2025

Taxes?

Thank you for the help!

Please keep safe in these hard times.
