No Update After NOA1 & Updated Processing Estimate

Hi All,

 

I submitted the I-130 application for my spouse's CR-1 on Oct 30, 2024. Based on estimated processing times on Visa Journey, I was hoping to get a notification of the I-130 approval last week. However, up to this day, I have not heard back from USCIS.

 

I then logged into my USCIS account and noticed the "Estimated Time Until Your Case Decision" was changed from 6 months and reverted back to 18 months. There has been no follow-up from USCIS to explain why the estimated time had increased so dramatically. The most recent update to my case status was NOA1.

 

Did I miss something? Or is there something wrong with my application? Or am I just overreacting and need to have more patience?

Estimated times on MyProgress can be ignored. They are not accurate. On day of my oath, estimated time to decision was 3 weeks. @Rhema1 saw 11 months until decision on day of the oath. If you search Visa Journey, you will see many reports of this not being accurate.

 

There is no exact science to estimating processing times. No free or paid tool can predict it accurately, because there are too many variables.

 

Currently, we see I-130 taking anywhere between 12 and 17 months for most cases. So you can get approval tomorrow or in the next 3-4 months and there is no way of telling for sure.
