I-131 Parole Fee

Hi,

 

I just received a notification that USCIS issued me a letter stating that due to my I-131 and that "Aliens seeking parole at a POE must now pay the Immigration Parole Fee or establish that an exception to the fee applies, effective immediately."

Now I'm wondering, I already have my greencard and would use this as my travel document as well as my passport and marriage certificate. Will I still have to pay the 1000$?

I believe this does not apply for you, because you already have a green card.

Remind me why do you need I-131 at all? Usually you only need GC and passport, unless you're planning to stay outside the US for long time, thus needing reentry permit. But it's not a parole in my understanding.

Thanks for replying! That sounds relieving! I applied for it for before I had gotten the green card. So I could visit my family in case of an emergency for during the greencard process. But that sounds good thank you!

Yeah, it does not apply to you anymore. Looks like automated email for everybody who filed I-131 regardless of purpose (it covers many docs)
