Hello everyone

I was instructed by the NVC that the documents for Immigrant's Visa Application for my 2 sons need to be mailed to DOS Visa in VA. I sent the 2 separate packets to DOS VISA through USPS Registered Mail on Monday September 8.  I checked on the USPS tracking that the packets  have been delivered and are available at a PO Box on September 11, 2025 in STERLING, VA 20166.  How would I know that the packets are already in the hands of the NVC staff?

Thank you VJ family.

That’s odd. Normally only EB cases need to be mailed, everybody else uploads on CEAC. Was this just a specific document that had to be mailed?

You won’t know they’re in their hands, probably because they’re not yet! They’ll be in a pile waiting to be looked at. But if you know they were delivered to the right address then that’s all good. Add about a week on to the usual processing times page to give you an idea of when you might be DQ’ed (mailings always take a little bit longer).

Good luck.

Thank you @appleblossom for your reply. This is what the NVC said in their email "your case doesn't participate in NVC's electronic processing program. Therefore you can't submit forms or documents by email. Instead , you should follow the instructions included in your Welcome Letter to submit documents to us. Pls. submit your documents to one of the following address."

There are lists of documents listed in the Welcome Letter, same documents to be uploaded to CEAC.

That's a good idea to add about a week to the usual processing times. I will  email  NVC through Public Inquiry Form.

How odd, I’ve never heard of that before! Why did they email you about it and tell you it wasn’t electronic, was that in response to a message you sent? I’m wondering if that was an error. What did the Welcome Letter say? Did you upload as well?

Why are you emailing NVC? It’s just a case of waiting to be DQ’ed now, no need to contact them.

This is one of the paragraph in the Welcome letter "To begin processing your immigrant visa application, go to our website at https://nvc.state.gov and work with the applicant to complete the detailed steps of the NVC process. After completing the required steps, submit documents to NVC by following the instructions at https://nvc.state.gov/mail.

After my sons completed the Immigrant Visa Application we got the confirmation number. It's already 1 month I still can't see the upload button that's why I sent an email to NVC about uploading the forms and documents to CEAC. Their reply is that our case  does not participate in electronic processing and we need to send it to the DOS Visa address. The Cover Letter is also provided when they sent the Welcome Letter.

All we have to do now is to wait  to be DQ'ed.

Thank you once again @appleblossom for your time replying to my post.

How very strange. What kind of application and what’s the PD?
