Laid Off - Will EI Continue after move?

Hey folks,

Read some of the Canuck EI Thread prior to posting this, it did not have my specific answer.

I am relocating to the US on a K1 visa in October.
Unrelated to this, I was laid off at my job as of September 5th and will be applying for EI.

Under my circumstances, can I expect continuation of EI after relocation?

I am not sure how things have changed since the last post in that thread as of 2022 and I am seeking some guidance on how to navigate this issue.

I can't remember exactly but I think they want to see your EAD and will resume EI after you receive it.

Do they backdate the intervening period?

I'm not sure, but if you check out the EI thread from the start I bet the answer is in there.
