Hello everyone.

could you please help with this question here and if you or someone you know had a similar experience.

my US citizen brother filed 1-130 for my other beneficiary brother in 2008/2009 and recently got a letter from NVC for him to pay fees and upload documents.

The beneficiary was single at that tike when I-130 was filed. However, he got married about 2 years ago (no children yet) and we were under impression that we will update immigration/consulate by the time visa is available for home (now).

while researching how to add dependent (wife). I am reading some information that it should have been updated once the change happened or file new i-130?

can any one confirm or explain furTher?

also if that’s right, what complications to have moving forward?

thank you so

much.

It's no problem at all, and no new I-130 has to be filed. All he has to do is add his wife as a beneficiary to his case - https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/step-1-submit-a-petition/step-2-begin-nvc-processing/ceac-faqs.html#ceac16

They will then both apply for visas, and both interview when the times comes and their PD is current.
