Why do you strongly advise against rescheduling? Im also planning to reschedule mine because I'm from a visa ban country. Im thinking of pushing it 6 monhts out at least

If you're from a visa ban country then that's maybe different. You can't get a visa anyway, so rescheduling makes more sense.

As it says in the link I gave, there can be a big delay if you choose to reschedule.

I would strongly advise you don't reschedule it unless you absolutely have to. But follow the instructions on the usual website to do so - https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Supplements/Supplements_by_Post/MTL-Montreal.html

If you could fill your timeline in too (on your profile), it would be much appreciated. Thanks and good luck.

I am considering rescheduling because I have applied for Canadian citizenship, and I don't have the passport yet. The passport I have is from a recently banned country. I think it is better to wait for the Canadian passport before going for the interview.

Yeah 👍

It's wise to wait for the Canadian passport.

Immigrations cases of people's originating from all ban countries are paused indefinitely.

Has anyone hired an attorney for eb2-niw consular processing? If so, who did you hire and how much did you pauly. How much does it usually cost?

Plenty of people use attorneys for the petition but I’ve not heard of one being required just for the consular part of the application. It’s very straightforward. Why do you feel you need one, is there a complication or issue you are expecting?

As I mentioned before, it would be appreciated if you would please ‘pay it forward’ by completing the timeline on your profile. Thx.
