Hi

I am applying from the middle east where we have a sponsored work visa. I have an indian nationality.

What should i mention for the question " are you a permanent resident of any other country other than the country of nationality? "

I assume its no since i dont have a PR.

A few people on other blogs have mixed opinions

Have no doubt. If you don't have PR, the answer is no.

Ok . So as per the update my visa has been approved but it says its gone for final processing after which it can turn to refused or issued. Any idea what this final processing means?

I’m confused. You were asking yesterday about filling in the DS-160, now you’re saying your visa has been approved? Did you have an interview?

If you have had an interview then the final processing is just background checks. If you haven’t then I’m not sure what you mean, please clarify.

So i asked this query yday just to be sure if i selected the right option for the permanent residency question on the form.

What kind of background checks ?

Ah, I see. Just the usual they do for any visa. Keep an eye on your status and when it changes to issued you know it's actually been approved.

I read on reddit that a lot of people get refuse after being approved but still it changes to issue later. What that about?

I have just travelled twice befor without any overstay. Hv a good travel history europe included.

Yes that's perfectly normal. Refused just means you're in Admin Processing, whilst they do the checks.

What gets checked with admin processing?

What are you so concerned about, what do you think they'll find? It's just standard final checks before the visa is approved and issued.

I don’t think any more than usual. If you’ve got a good travel history to the US and strong ties to Bahrain then there’s no reason to worry.

Just wait and see, it usually changes to issued super quickly.

Good luck.
