My fiancé and I are having concerns about if the I-134 is needed for the K1 visa interview.

I was a student and working part time past few years. So my income isn’t enough to satisfy the income requirements.

I did some research and it seems the Manila embassy doesn’t ask for the I-134 form.

Anyone have experience in this or know if it’s true? Also, could my father fill out a seperate I-134 form for my fiancé just in case? I heard it could be accepted along with mine on a case by case basis. Thank you.

They normally do not ask but they can ask anyone for it at anytime so I would be prepared and fill one out yourself as the primary sponsor (regardless of your income) and to have a joint sponsor (your father) fill one out as well and have your fiancée bring them to the interview.

Hello thank you so much for your reply. I saw on your profile that you also did the K1.
I heard that Manila doesn’t accept a joint sponsor for K1. However would a second I-134 by my father be accepted regardless? If asked for?

Did you use two I-134 for your case? Thank you

Careful of what you "hear" about things at the Manila embassy.... the rumor mill about "blanket" embassy processes in the Philippines is completely out of control and usually overblown and often downright wrong. It is up to the Consular Officer that is conducting the interview whether to require the I-134, if they will accept a joint sponsor, etc. A second I-134 filled out on behalf of your fiancée by your father would be him being a "Joint Sponsor". He does not join on your I-134. All you can do is be prepared with the two I-134s to give to your fiancée to bring to the interview. We did not use two as my income exceeded the requirements.
