N‑400 Address History – Best Way to Document 2-3 Week Travel Gaps Between Leases

I’m filling out the 5‑year address history section of my N‑400 and need advice on how to record a couple of short gaps between leases. Twice in the past five years my lease ended, I put everything in storage, and spent 2‑3 weeks traveling. I stayed in hotels/Airbnbs for just a few days at a time (mostly within the U.S. ‑ Philadelphia, Chicago ‑ plus a short stop in Paris). During those gaps I used my employer’s address for any mail.

Which approach is most sensible for the N‑400 Address History part?

 

1. Single entry per gap: something like:
Address Line 1: No permanent address – traveling
Address Line 2: Various (Philadelphia, Chicago, Paris)

2. Leave the gap blank since each stay was well under 30 days.
3. List each hotel/Airbnb as a separate address entry.

What do the instructions say?  Read them carefully, interpret them literally, and answer completely/honestly.

 

I haven't read the instructions, but "residences" or "addresses" would seem to be places where you received your mail and could be reliably found.  Depending on the literal instructions, I say 2., and explain the short gaps only if questioned in the naturalization interview.  Others here may have differing views.
