I just saw this on the Embassy's Facebook page.

My fiance is not Sierra Leonian but our hearts are broken for others who are affected. I'm so sorry. 💔 Praying for each of you.

For those that already have visas, there were several questions in the comments about if those individuals could still travel to the US. It sounds like the answer is yes, despite the language in the proclamation that sounds like it would not be permitted. Everyone stay safe.

Wow... thank you for sharing this information. Have you heard any further news from the embassy about when visa slots will open up?

Not yet, I think we are affected with restrictions. That what they said on their Facebook.

They just added new appointments!

(I wanted to share the news, but I have also heard that if somebody in a restricted category goes to their appointment, they will be denied. If I were in that situation, I might hold off on booking/attending an appointment in case the restriction gets lifted, but our situation is different. I couldn't tell anyone what to do for their situation.)

Wishing everyone the best.

Thanks for the information. What country are you a resident of? Were you able to successfully book your appointment?

I booked an interview date for my fiance for June 30th at 8am. I am in Utah, he's in SL.

That's wonderful. We saw that appointment, but we weren't sure if we would get through the medical appointment process in time. We wanted to book the medical sooner, but they wouldn't let us book it without proof of having an interview appointment. Ugh... So we booked one that is a bit later..

If he still needs the medical, be sure to let their office know when your interview is, and double check that they can deliver the documents in time. We had a friend who went to his interview, but his medical documents had not been delivered yet, and he had to go back to book a whole other interview appointment after his first one. 😬😬

Really?? Oh no, I didn't know that. I reached out to the medical center to see if they have any upcoming availability. I informed them of my interview date. I'm here praying! Did you needed up booking for August?
