After my last two posts on this website, I'm glad to say that I dropped off my passport with my 221g just yesterday, April 28th, 2025. I'm happy, but now there are new concerns. Is there an estimate on how long it usually takes to hear back after that? The waiting game feels really hard to do.

Depends on the reason for the 221g and what background checks still need to he done. Not helpful I know but it can be anywhere from days to months to even longer. There’s no set timescale but assuming there’s nothing else needing checking hopefully it won’t be too long.

Good luck.

The 221g was because my medical was delayed. Interview was April 14th when day 2 of the medical was on the 21st !

One of our community members here just had to do the same recently at the Manila Consulate and it took them 2-3 weeks to process once they received her passport back. That's no guarantee obviously because it is the US Government and consistency is not their strong point but it's a pretty good benchmark since hers just happened in March.

That eases my mind a bit, thanks for letting me know! Consistency really isn't their strong suit but still, I'd like to hope it comes before the end of enrollment period for schools here in the Philippines. We can only hope ! :dead:
