When you registered with the FBI and paid the $18 fee, there should have been an option to register your request with the post office. If you didn't do this, go to https://ips.usps.com/IdentityCapture/ and register with your EDO receipt number you got from the FBI

After they scan my fingerprint will they mail it out to where ever it needs to be mailed to?

It gets sent electronically to the FBI. I had my results back in like 2-3 hours.

I had my fingerprints submitted at the local US Post Office.  It is $50 to USPS and $18 to FBI.  I received my results in 1 hour via email.

 

I have had several FBI background checks before so I am not sure if that helps that they have my fingerprints on file for 30 years.
