Hello members,

I received an automated email from the embassy prior to our immigration interview in a few days stating that my police clearance certificates have expired among other document required. I currently live in the UAE and have previously lived in India and Bahrain. The immigration website also mentions that a new police certificate is required if all of the following conditions are met:

1. I am more than 16 years old;
2. The police certificate was obtained more than two years ago;
3. I still live in the country that issued the certificate.

Since I currently reside in the UAE, I can provide a new police certificate from here. However, do I also need to obtain new certificates from India and Bahrain, even though I no longer live in those countries and have only visited and stayed briefly ( less than a month) after obtaining my original certificates? How would this impact my visa process timeline if new certificates are required?

In this situation I feel like you might want to consider trying to get the police certificates for the countries you mentioned; better to have them and provide them than not get them and then it delays your process longer because they send a request for them.

But as you've mentioned, your interview is in a few days? You realistically won't have enough time to acquire these unless they offer some form of premium service/delivery like next day or something.

Obviously I am not 100% sure, but if that was me, that's what I would do.

I guess I just have to find out by hearing what they have to say about this during the interview. Getting a police clearance is time consuming process, especially when you are not residing in that country. A premium service too needs time.
