How long did it take for everyone to get their welcome letter/email from NVC after I-130 approval?

Current timescales are here, it’s updated once a week - https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/nvc-timeframes.html

Then once the NVC stage is done the wait for an interview will vary by consulate. Anywhere between a couple of months to a couple of years. If yours is London then luckily it’s one of the quickest.

Good luck.

Always so helpful! I didn’t know about this site. Thank you!

Mine took 4 days, and I received it last Saturday night, so apparently letters do get sent out over the weekend.

Amazing, thank you for the information!

Have you had your approval for your other I-130 yet? Once both cases are at NVC you can contact them to ask them to link them and schedule them for interview together.

Good luck.

Yes, they were approved on the same night. My son is 13, so I was trying to figure out how to get an interview exemption for him. Would linking the cases and requesting a joint interview mean he is required to interview, or is there a way to link the cases and still request an exemption?

There’s no exemption as only derivative applicants under 14 don’t have to attend an interview. He’s a principal applicant on his own petition so an interview will be required.

Got it. Thanks for that info.
