Is it worth calling the NVC? Pending interview letter

Next week will be 90 days waiting for an interview letter for my husband - IR1, Dublin embassy. I’ve seen mixed stuff online from the NVC about calling after 90 days has passed to see what’s going on.

I’m living overseas with my husband and my work has agreed that August is my window to move over in. Additionally, my husband will probably lose his internal transfer role if we don’t get some concrete dates for his company’s U.S. management soon. Starting to get desperate.

Are you a US citizen or a green card holder? What does your online status say?

Sorry, should have included that! I am a citizen. The CEAC portal just says it’s at NVC. We were DQ’d January 25th.

Mmm, that is odd then. I'd definitely contact NVC, but I wouldn't call personally, I'd use the ask NVC thing on their website. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/ask-nvc.html

I'm in the exact same boat as you. My wife is a U.S. citizen and we are DQ since Jan 19th but still waiting and the portal just says at NVC. I can't find anything else online. If possible would you keep me updated if you hear anything! I've missed out on job opportunities now already!

Yes I’ll keep this page updated! We are actually being evicted at the end of August so I’m going to try and expedite for financial hardship. A long shot but we have to try at least.

I did try emailing the NVC to ask why the hell they gave interview letters this month to people DQ’d in March instead of January, since it’s the exact opposite of their stated rule which is first in first out based on DQ date. They of course emailed back with a copy paste response to say that they schedule interviews FIFO and were in the queue. Completely useless.

Hey have you heard anything from the nvc as of yet?

Hey! Nothing yet. I sent in an expedite request last week and the NVC forwarded it to the embassy last Tuesday. Still waiting to hear back on that. Seems like most embassies respond to expedites really quickly but of course Dublin has taken a week so far 🙄

We got an interview appointment this afternoon, so hopefully yours is coming through imminently as well. They didn’t respond to our expedite yet, it appears this was just part of the normal scheduling process.
