My sister sent her N400 application to California Service Center - July 17, 2007

Biometrics done - September 5, 2007

Interview Schedule - April 26, 2008

Had been wondering why there was no update in the USCIS website about her case. She already received a copy of the interview schedule through the mail, but if I inquire from the USCIS website, her case has no update at all. It still says that the application has been received and pending. The last update actually was August 18, 2007, perhaps the date when they scheduled her biometrics appointment. Guess USCIS is really busy....

thanks felix.

I will update the page you referred me to.

When I check online my case status, there is not update since 8.09.07 either.

you are welcome!

the website is pretty much abandoned by USCIS right now, as well as 800 number info, only way to get true status - to go Infopass or ask 800 lady to transfer you to Immigration officer, but you have to give a reason for that.

Folks, forget the website, sometimes it will not update even after oath and passport. if you are concerned - make infopass

I also read in the news that some time before, USCIS would schedule the interview even if the background check had not been completed.

Nowadays, USCIS will schedule interview only after the backbround check has been completed, to avoid lawsuits.

So, I believe that since I have the interview already, that means the background check has been completed, therefore the oath should not be much longer after the interview.

has anybody read anything like this as well?

yes, since mid 2007 or so, they no more schedule interview unless FBI checks are all clear, so your Oath date should depend on court schedules, like in LA they have website with dates:

http://www.cacd.uscourts.gov/CACD/GenInfo....32?OpenDocument

LA has Oath ceremonies twice a month, rarely 3 times, like March is 12 075 people, and April is only 7 075, May is 12 075 again.

try google court schedule for Miami

I have also read that some people do the oath right after the interview. I wonder in what instances that is possible.

it depends on your Miami Office, read those Miami topics mentioned before
