If we use an attorney for the I-761, will there need to be a G-28 for both the conditioner resident (petitioner) and spouse?

No, there's only one G-28.

The petitioner and beneficiary for I-751 is both the green card holder! Lawyer represents the person removing conditions.

Lawyer would typically prepare the forms, you just have to read them and verify everything is accurate.

But, in the I-751, there's also a section for the spouse, under "Spouse or Individual's Statement" to say they have requested the services of an attorney.  Page 7, Part 8, Item 2.

Yes, you are right about spouse signature. But lawyer represents the immigrant. I went through I-751 with a lawyer and joint filing. Speaking from experience.

The rationale is: the Green Card holder can remove the conditions without the spouse if divorce occurs or spouse dies etc.

@JD2 I'm taking my words back. I checked the forms (since I have the full copy).

There are two G-28 forms. One for me and one for US citizen spouse.

It amazes me how I didn't remember this, because I checked these forms multiple times throughout the process.
