RFE "hot zone"

Just wondering, when do RFE requests usually get sent out during the visa process?

 

Backstory - Got NOA1 on April 25, 2023, so it's been about 8 months. Still within the standard processing time, was just curious if an RFE usually tends to happen earlier in the process or it could come up at any time. 

 

I don't necessarily expect one because everything was filed to a T, but just want to be prepared in case it does pop up.

After sitting on the shelf for months, then and only then when an adjudicator picks up the file to actually review it.  When this happens, they will either approve, deny or issue an RFE.
