Biometrics taken in April, no update to status

Hi there!

I know the wait times are long, and we're happily just ticking along, but I'm just a little worried about my biometrics. I received my appointment for biometrics, and attended on April 20, 2023 - since then, I'm just showing as "case is being actively reviewed", and not "biometrics taken".. just a little worried that they've been lost! I had my appointment letter stamped when I attended, as proof that I was there, but just wondering if anyone else is in the same boat? Surely they should have been received by the National Benefits Center now?

I'm an IOE number, if that makes any difference!

Thanks all :)

I've seen biometrics related statuses getting stuck for a year or so. It's just a status somebody forgot to update. It shouldn't affect the actual processing of the case. One day it may magically change to "Card being produced" status. At least that's what I think.

"One day" being the key word here! Haha! Thank you for the response and reassurance :) :)

Of course 🙂

What I've seen personally in my "batch" of cases. My biometrics got reused in late April 2022. However, some neighboring cases had "case received" status until May-June 2023. Some of them got approved a month or two later, even before my case got approved despite my biometrics were reused for longer. I don't trust online status 100%

We are in the same boat, same status as you and biometrics also done in August. So it seems to be normal for some. Although I'm thinking that there is nothing 'normal' about this whole process LOL!

My wife's status changed from  "Case Was Received" to "Case Is Being Actively Reviewed" within hours of her attending biometrics.  So there was a pretty clear correlation there.  Since then nothing.  Those are the only two statuses there ever were. My stepdaughter remains stuck at "Case Was Received".  I think it's normal.  By USCIS standards anyways.

Here's where you are in luck.  IOE case numbers are serialized so other IOE numbers within the same receipt number block as yours date from the same time period.  And clever guys are busy analysing all that data.

Got to https://www.casestatusext.com/forms/I-751/IOE-LB and you can find the status of ALL the cases from your receipt number block to see where you fit in as normal.

Go a step further and use their case status tool https://www.casestatusext.com/cases and it will pull up the actual status on a whole list of cases near yours.

It's really a cool website.

"Case Is Being Actively Reviewed By USCIS" is by far the most common status.
