Welcome and Congratulations on your approval!

This thread was created for those who are waiting for their NOA2  K-1 case assignment from NVC and then tracking your case onwards to your Embassy.

A few helpful NVC links:

 NVC phone number is  (603)334-0888

🚨  Please note:  They are currently NOT answering queries over the phone! 🚨

They are answering through the below emails :

➡️  NVCinquiry@state.gov ⬅️

                      OR

➡️ NVCResearch@state.gov ⬅️

Once you’ve received your NVC case number you can track your case online using the following link, until it is sent to your embassy:

https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?App=IV

If you need to submit an inquiry, change an address , or need to update your info in anyway NVC also has a public inquiry form where you can submit your request as well as other requests:

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/ask-nvc.html

Also, inside the attached PDF below are a few tips, tricks and hacks to help you along the way.

These are items that everyone asks for, so they have been very helpfully put together by senior VJ Member Greenbaum for you to refer to when necessary. If you are new to this thread, please read these first as these are the most asked questions.

NVC sends petitions to the embassy every two weeks on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. A FB group has created a shipping chart for 2023 that you can use to track when the next shipment date will be. It seems to line up with all the dates I’ve seen so far so I think it’s accurate and will include it below.

Did they answered you with the case number yet?

Hi yes, they answered my inquiry today.

They replied "Due to your petition type, you will not receive a request for fee payment or document submission."

I sent a follow up inquiry today asking for confirmation that I don't need to submit the DS-160. I find that confusing that they are saying we don't have to pay or submit anything else.

Also, I had flipped the Petioner and Principal Applicant names on the inquiry so they also clarified that for me:

"The Principal Applicant or Beneficiary is the person who intends to immigrate to the United States.

The Petitioner is the U.S. permanent resident or U.S. citizen who filed an immigrant visa petition for the principal applicant."

That means they gave you the Case number today and you most likely will be ship in between Dec 5 and 6 or if you are lucky you will be shipped by the 27. No don't worry about the fees The thing is that their website where they are posting our status is original for Immigrant visas no Non-immigrants, We will have to pay fees when we submit the DS-160

Filed: K-1 Visa Country: Germany
Timeline

NOA2: 20 November (per I-797)

November 29: sent public inquiry regarding a name change of the beneficiary and what procedures/documentation needed to be done. WAC# provided as required in form.

December 1: NVC responds with generic "we have not received your case number yet". Seems they're unable/unwilling to answer my question until case is at NVC 😕

My case went to Dominican Republic Embassy! 🙂

I submitted a message as to next steps and they said for K1 visa I have to complete the DS-160 belt interview. So working on that.

Hi all,

So completed the DS-160. It took a bit of figuring how my fiance would sign the form. We ended up using WhatApps new screen share option. I guided him how to log in and review the application and then sign.

Not sure what other programs or apps people have used in the past. We tried to use Zoom but his Internet was too spotty for that.

You would not be receiving your approval if you just filed your petition in October. Have you joined the October Filers group? They may be able to give you a better idea of when you’ll receive a response

Still waiting for DR Embassy to approve my DS-160 😞. They finally replied to my many inquiries that they are behind and be patient. Sigh.
