Did somebody get a green card after denial vor visa extension

Please post here,

if you know smth.

Do you have experience or know somebody that was in USA on B2 visa, try to extend the visa, got approved or denied and later in the future family member petition for this person for a green card. Was he/she approved for a green card or not?
