I entered a question about this scenario under the AOS Transferred to California thread before leaving to the UK earlier this month. In case anyone is interested to know what happened...

I went through immigration at Shannon, presented my AP and all was as normal. The guy asked me when I would be getting my green card and I told him I'd heard it had been ordered.

Now have green card in hand which will make travelling SO much easier... have a trip to Africa in a couple of weeks and I am looking forward to coming back in through the shorter immigration line :-)

To all those of you still waiting for AOS.. GOOD LUCK!!!! I keep checking to see where your names are.

Good to know you didn't have problems even though your GC had been approved. CBP officers are generally reasonable people, as long as you can explain your details you'll likely to have no problems.

Depends on what flight you are on! Last one I flew they ended up directing the Americans through the foriegner line because it was empty and the American line was hugely backed up!
