Well, if you want to get technical who started it then here is the timeline.

Which mothership? There are so many. Up here in Jersey, the Democratic Party is the mothership. What we need is a year where every incumbent loses at every level.

You got that right! I think everyone should lose this next year. Start over with a clean slate and promise to do the same in the next election if they don't get it right!!!

Funny, looks like a lot more blue ones than red ones there. It's just the big cities in those blue states that make them blue. Take away NYC, LA and Chicago and that map would be a lot different!
