Just checking, you’re doing it here? https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-gb/iv/information/iv_services

This is a website for the UK, so no. I will be interviewing in the Czech Republic, so this is the place: https://www.ustraveldocs.com/cz/en/immigrant-visa

That's where I ended up after following the instructions setforth on the Department of State website: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Supplements/Supplements_by_Post/PRG-Prague.html#interview_guidelines

https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-us/countries_list/iv has a selection of countries, but Czech Republic is not listed here, so I assume the instructions are still correct and I should've been using US Travel Docs

Ah, ok. I thought you were London for some reason - if you could fill your profile in then it would help for the future, thx.

Now that the visa bulletin has moved 4 months. Do people whose PD became current a month back get preference for IL over the current PD?

Depends on their DQ date. It's done by that, so if they were DQ'ed first then yes.

Hi all, been a lurker for a while on NVC threads. My case is current after yesterday's visa bulletin.  I'm trying to get people's input on whether I should change the processing consulate. Here's my timeline:

Visa Type: EB2 NIW

PD: 2023-09-20

DQ Date 1 (Date shown on a letter pdf from NVC): 2024-04-23

DQ Date 2 (?) : 2024-07-16

Processing Consulate: Montreal

I understand that Montreal is scheduling interviews for EB cases with DQ dates after 2024 May, roughly when should I expect to get an interview?

I'm also confused as to what my DQ date is. So I received a PDF a while back that says I'm DQed and that letter was dated 4/23. I contacted the NVC about correcting something on the DS-260 (Silly mistake ikr !) and they just gave me a canned response saying that my case is already DQed, which was dated 7/16. So is my DQ date 4/23 or 7/16?

Also, trying to gather some opinions as to whether it makes more sense to wait it out on Montreal or switch to Hong Kong. From what I've been told, Hong Kong seems to schedule interviews 1-2 months after DQ. So I guess it doesn't make much of a difference between the 2 consulates if they use the DQ date of 4/23?

Thank you!

Are you actually resident in Hong Kong? Being a citizen of a country doesn't usually mean you can interview there. But I don't think it's worth it anyway as you should get an interview fairly soon - switching consulates will add a delay now.

I was born in Hong Kong, currently working in Canada and that's why the NVC accepted my initial request to transfer the case to Montreal
Sounds good - will keep an eye out for the IL for MTL then, thanks

I have an approved EB2 NIW application, priority date 6 September 2023, doc Qualified in February 2024. My application is still with NVC pending interview appointment in London. I am worried that this is taking longer than expected. My priority date will be current from June 2025.

I would be grateful for any information from anyone who is in the same situation or has been through this process.

If it’s not current until June then there no delay. You can’t be interviewed until current.

Thanks for your response. I asked because I don’t understand exactly what to expect and timelines. I joined this platform to understand the process better.

Just checking, but you are following the official website? That gives you details of each stage and process. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/step-1-submit-a-petition/step-2-begin-nvc-processing.html

But they won’t interview you until you are eligible for a visa, so tomorrow onwards (if your PD becomes current then) you’ll be at that stage of the process. Hopefully you’ll have your visa fairly soon, good luck.

Yes, I am following the bulletin but was a bit confused as to reason for the delay in interview. I was misguided in thinking that I would get an interview earlier and visa issued when my PD becomes available.  Now I know that interview is only scheduled when PD is current.

Thanks to all who took the time to respond.
