I just asked hubby & he saId he's prefer to be back in Bristol in a couple years so apparently it might not be relevant to us! Oh well.

I'd definitely rather be in Southern California (that's where you are devilette, right?) than Bristol any day. Give him a few years, it took me 5 to realise that's where I want end up.

Yep, West LA, 4 miles from the ocean! I'm working on him..... ;)

My hubby and I have discussed it in the past and, at the time of our discussions, I thought I would have to give up my British citizenship to become a USC. Because of that I decided that I would stay a GC holder.

However, since finding this lovely site and finding out the truth, I am more open to the thought of becoming a USC. Our first step is to get through the immigration process and then only time will tell what choice I make in the future.

Frankly, with the way things might go in the country, I wouldn't mind Tim having the protections of citizenship since, though there are standards, there is always the chance - no matter how remote - of removal. Even mistakenly ordered. But that's just the effects of watching too many dystopian films and worrying about the growth of Big Brother, etc.

If the USA becomes so totalitarian that they start deporting people for not being US citizens or minor infractions, I wouldn't want to stay here anyway. If it was just for "being foriegn" I doubt being naturalised would help, it didn't help Japanese Americans in the WW2 after all did it?

It was a reference to the post quoted above, I believe. So not completely random, but odd just the same!

I love "forum Tourettes"! Funniest thing I've heard in a long time!

Dr_LHA's use of the word and Geraghty's question/statement seem to be about two completely different things.

Ah OK. This is where the quote tags come in handy - I forget I even posted that!

Still I don't really understand Geraghty's response to my post at all, even now its put in context.

I completely agree! So, as Dr. LHA indicated, this must be forum Tourettes!
