Is it normal for ISL embassy to give out interview date after 3 months?

Or is it for K3 visas only?

I am expecting my wife's case to be transfered there early Aug, should I expect interview date for December?

K3 is usually 3 months. Our CR 1 was at embassy in August and interview was 6 months later for December. Hang in there everyone.

Is that true? I have seen post here who have Interview dates assigned 2 to 6 weeks after their case completes at ISL embassy.

Can someone else share their experience please. Thanks

Really? 2 to 6 weeks? May be K1 or probably K3, not CR1.

Assalaamu Alaikum,

It seems like my wife's file has been put on AP, after the interview she was given a paper saying that her file is under AP and that it takes min. of 45 days etc..., they also took 10 fingerprints. I was told that all female who were being interviewed that day was given an AP letter.

What is the procedure of checking the status of AP?

Salam everyone,

Since our case has been silent for over a year now, my husband decided to quit his US job, move to Pakistan and wait the I-130 out with me, here. People he works for have been very understanding and have introduced a new idea. They suggest he moves to Mexico, continues working for them from their unit in Mexico... I join him in Mexico and we wait there till our I-130 is approved. After that, we can move to the US together, inshAllah.

Now, if that works out... and the I-130 gets approved, I understand I will have to go to Pakistan for the interview. There are a couple of things we are worried about, in that case...

  • How will we convince the Embassy in Pakistan that my husband will move back to the US as soon as I get my visa?
  • Should he return to the US as soon as I get an interview date? (We are scared of the L.O.N.G. AP/AR they're going to put me through AFTER the interview).
  • Has ANYONE out there done this before? Move to a third country while waiting for their I-130's approval?

We've been waiting for a very long time now... and this idea just ignited some enthusiasm... that at least we'll be living together. Plus, Mexico's got to be fun, inshAllah! :help:

4 weeks for me

But you filed K3. Main purpose of K1 and K3 is to bypass the delay that CR1 folks have to go through.

My 2 paisa's...

You got denied? why?

somehow i thought you were providing your timeline based on what jaxguy asked. So i was just clarifying my old point that turnaround for K1 and K3 is much quicker than Cr-1. Thats all.
