Hi, thanks. :)

So does that mean that if I am bringing my WIFE from Pakistan, we might not experience the same AP delays?

I'm a Pakistani male as well but I've also been a citizen for a decade, and my name is dissimilar from both general Pakistani names and the kind of stereotypical "oh he must be a terrorist" names the US may filter for.

Which names do they filter for? Like can you give me about 10 of the major ones that are surely singled out?

Hello! Are we able to prepare and send in Packet 3 before they send it out or do we need to wait until they have actually sent it out?

Mahitab

If you can get police certificate without Packet 3 then I say why not?

No western has ever come close to this one....and no western ever will.

Congrats on your approval - I think what you are asking is if you can send the P3 to consulate in Islamabd w/o waiting for them to send you check list? If that's you question, the answer is 'NO'.

As part of the P3 that is sent by USEM, they have an official letter that AMEX needs. Without that letter AMEX will not accept the (P3 related) documents. So, you have to wait for that letter from USEM. In the meantime, if you haven't already, gather the Police Certificate, Birth Certificate etc.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

I was told to contact the USEM islamabad after 2 weeks.I tried to call but as usual phone line was busy then i emailed to them, they even did not reply me back.

I decided to call DOS on thursday and the lady told me that "now they r reviewing the documents".

OMG this is very very late.It means they will again take the weeks to review it.

I m upset...........this is disgusting

Hello! Thank you Shah for advice! So, we must wait for the letter from AMEX and that is in the packet 3? How long did your wife's take? Did you go K3 or CR1?

BTW: While sending the P3, USEM generally does not use AMEX, they use TCS. So, once you receive P3 (from any courier service), it will have the letter. Once you have the letter, you will take that letter along with all the requested documents (list will be provided in P3) to AMEX and pay them Rs. 1000.00 to have the documents delivered to USEM. USEM will than take 2 - 3 weeks to issue Packet 4, which is nothing but another letter stating your appointment date and time. And P4 is sent via AMEX - AMEX will call you to come and pick it up once they get P4 from USEM. Hope this helps.

The process is as it is as mentioned above, thats what happened with me in aug2007 but before Amex use to charge Rs600/- may be they raised the fee,

and SA_&_BA , Best of Luck for your interview

Ok, thank you everyone! What is that in USD so that I can get an idea as to how much he will be paying? Also, from the time they get the K3 at the embassy how long does it take to get the Packet 3? How long from your own experiences? Also, is it definite that my spouse will be put on AP?
