Visit this link: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3190.html.

As far as civil docs go, I submitted the following:

* Birth Certificate

* Marriage Certificate

* Photocopy of Valid Passport Biographic Data Page

* Police Certificate(s)

On state dept's website it says that if your documents are not in English they could be in the native language of the country you are applying in so I didn't submit marriage cert. in English and the birth cert. was already in English.

So don't worry about getting your docs translated in English and getting them verified. They want all original docs.

If you are not sure if something should be translated call them, the reps will tell you.

Hope this helps!

Wait till your case is completed. You can't get an interview date prior to case complete. If you case gets completed by this weekend, NVC will get you something for Aug hopefully.

Good luck!

Please tell me what I should do now?? Does he need to try and get another orignal copy of B.C and what about a fresh police report.......everything else we had another set of orignals like our marriage certificate, so help please!!!???

What do you think I should be sending to him??? Other than pics and stuff.........NVC has everything else that was asked from us......please any advice or help.......thanks

I don't think July 17th is too early because they won't give him the report until a week later so he should have it few days before his interview 7/31.

I did have my wife get another copy of original B.C. We also had another original of M.C. If his police certificate has expired, he should get another one.

My wife got her police cert. on 3/13 and it was valid for 3 months so it would be expired by the time of her interview 7/11.

According to state dept's website the only thing he should need from you is the AOS docs and the interview letter in case he never receives his copy. He should be able to get everything else on his own from Pak.

Hope this helps!

Hi Aisha, Its very terrible news to get all the certificates or documents from the issuing authorities.specifically for my wife in the area of swat. Please say your husband to call the US consulate and get information, and we would also to to get this information from you again.

I got this from net but not sure if its true?

Q, The NVC wants originals then completes it's case and sents us a embassy appointment letter directing us to their web site which says Ensure that all necessary original documents will be available at the time of the interview? Does this mean I have to get all those documents again? Or will we just need the passort, OF-230-I, OF-230-II, photos, and supporting evidence of relationship?

a, It only means US officials at some point would like to see your originals, say if you have sent your original birth ceritificate at NVC but certified marriage certificate, then during the interview you have to show them your original marriage certificate.

The last page of our appointment letter says "[name of beneficiary/applicant] must bring the following to the visa interview: Any original documents that were requested by the NVC but were not submitted to the NVC...." so I don't think you need to bring originals which you have already submitted with your DS230. In our case, I submitted a certified copy of our marriage certificate so I will bring the original with me for the interview. For police records, however, I submitted the originals so will not be obtaining fresh ones for the interview. I hope this is right! Good luck.

These are the remarks presented by the people in favour of not getting the certificates again. But god knows better.

thanks for the feedback,

I know my husband's P.C. expires this month, so should he get a new one ( just in case asked for it)? He told me how difficult it can be to get this police certificate. I hate that for him and all the other husband/wives, but what can we do?

Also is it possible for him to get another orignal B.C?

Honestly speaking.......it is a bunch of ####### that they would have to take anything else with them to interview. Due to that we have sent them everything and it should be in front of them at the time of the interview, but who are we.........We have to do as they ask of us or that will prolong us being away from our families :(

One more thing..........since I already sent in our AOS papers and everything along with co-sponsor info, should I go ahead and get that to Qasim as well??

What else do they want from us???????

Thanks again

Aisha,

Your husband should get the P.C again just in case, they may not ask for it but he should have it with him at the time of the interview.

He should also get another original B.C. It should be easy if he has the registration/B.C number. He should be able to go to the local municipality or NADRA's office and provide them with B.C number.

Under 'interview preparation' section of state dept's website, they do want the applicants to have AOS docs ready so yeah I would send him the AOS docs.

thanks for the feedback,

Hello,

From what you guys have read on VJ and personal experience, how do you know if you are put on AP. Does the CO tell you? Do they keep your passport at the time of the interview and tell you to submit it when AP is cleared?

I know you get a pink sheet but what is exactly checked on the sheet?

Thanks!

I just checked my husbands copy of his Police Report was only good for 90 days and it was done on 4/14/2008, so his is expired now. So, looks like he will have to "try" and get a fresh one, before his interview date.

I will be sending him the AOS papers, but I need to call IRS to get more transcripts, due to......that was the only item that I didn't make copies of :wacko: cause I knew ...that I could call and get other copies.

I have been regularly following all the comments on this thread. I do not know how to enter or ask a question on the thread so sorry if I am in the wrong place. It is strange to hear that two copies of original are requested. I believe they mean that you should bring all the documents that are left in original with you. E.g if you have sent an attested copy of or translated copy of Nikahnama/marriagr certificate - They want you to bring that in original.

But thats how I see it. Please confirm it personally.

I have a strange problem whiling applying for I-130 and filling Form G-325 I wrote my father's name as incomplete e.g if its Qazi Ahmad Ali Khan I wrote his first name as Ahmad middle as Ali and last name as Jan. Now in DS-230 when I was filling the same I realized that in my birth certificate, Police certificate, Paassport etc. the fathers name is written as Qazi Ahmad Ali. So how do I write this in DS-230. Will writing the actual name make difference.

If anyone can reply, I will appreciate.

SHAS
