Well, after years of wait, it's finally over ... my wife and daughter received their visas.

My wife's interview was scheduled for next month but was interviewed at the same time when she accompanied our two year old daughter to her visa interview (even though the phone/emails to the embassy weren't successful in asking them for it).

Their interview experience ...

Took the bus shuttle around 7:15am for the embassy. Got in around 8:00am got in the embassy. 1st call for an interview was around 8:30 and they got called after 3/4 people.

The interviewer asked for "baye" form, than showed my two year old daughter my picture asking who I was. I guess got a satisfactory response (from a two year old).

Then asked the following to my wife ...

Any link to a terrorist organization?

Previous visit visa application?

Who is petitioner?

Where does your husband live?

What does he do for living?

Where was the baby born?

Why were you in Canada?

How long were you there for?

Do you have any relatives in the US?

Than something along the lines of .... congratulations your visa has been approved. Everything is okay, you need to send medical report. Which was sent along with passports and received the visas in about 12 days.

This forum has been a great help. Thanks for your support!

A few questions for the resident experts here.

First a brief case status. I applied through a lawyer for my wife both I-130 and K3. The I-130 processing was completed and interview date received for April 8th 2008.

A month ago post I-130 approval the K3 was approved, procssed at NVC and now she received a packet from the embassy for an interview date of January 8th 2008 requesting the same original documents that we have already sent them for the I-130.

Considering i kept emailing them when the I-130 was being processed for an early interview date, they never did that stating heavy workload and now the K3 is scheduled for an earlier date - not complaining but what a mess.

Questions i have are:

1. Is there a possibility of them do the I-130 interview on the date they have scheduled the K3?

2. All original documents were sent with the I-130, if she goes to the K3 interview what to expect?

3. What other options are available.

Apologies if the questions are redundant, your responses are appreciated.

Regards

Hi Scarlethawk,

CONGRATULATIONS your wife daughter got visa its a big achievement

Dear Khurram,

Brother i can understand what u going through because i too had faced this experience and i want to tell u an interesting thing that my case was approved i mean i got my NOA2 after 189 days and visa was issued to me after my interview also after 189 days so u can imagine how much i had to wait. I told u before khurram that in my case when my name check was done and it took me exactly two months to get the visa before that whatever u may ask either from embassy or from dos u get the same answer your case is in process. I pray that wife gets her visa soon.

Hi Hp81,

I want to ask u that u mention ur husband got permit what kind of permit he got for driving i went to the driving licence office and ask them that i want to apply for the written test for driving but she said u cant i dont know why now i got my social security card cant i give the written test and moreover i bring the international licence permti with me and they told me i can drive on that so please help me out regarding getting the driving licence

God bless us all and i pray that khurram wife get visa soon and had their reunion soon Ameen.

My husband got the Learner's permit, but in your case since you already have international learner's permit, once you are comfortable you can apply for License directly, for that you only have to pass the road test. One more suggestion go to the website and review the requirement, because each state has their own laws. Good Luck!

We finallay got our NOA for EAD and AOS on saturday dated 10-23-07. I am so happy!

Congrate man so thats the good thing that you have both interview's already schedule so here is what you can do just call embassy and tell them that your both cases is there and u got K3 interview date and ask them to change K3 interview to 130 interview so all you needed to do is take all the K3 doc they ask and since u already submit 130 docs they should have those and when they call ur wife name at embassy just go to counter and request them to do 130 interview instead of K3,

coz thats what happen with my wife case but only difference is that my wife only got K3 interview and embassy was in process of 130 date but I called them and told them to make K3 interview to 130 and they did it and since I went with my wife to embassy which is better and took both paper work K3 and 130, hope this help and good luck inshallah everything will be good
