I suggest you call DOS one or two weeks after it starts and make sure to call on Wednesday afternoons or Thursday mornings. When we were processing thru Islamabad they had updated cables to DOS on those days.

DOS phone number 202 663 1225 ( press 1, 0,)

All they will tell you is that your case is still in AP/AR and will not disclose any other information. Just make sure to have the case number, DOB, and other pertinent information as well they require this before they will talk to you.

Keep checking for your case status every 2-3 weeks.

Good luck on a speedy AP.

Mary

plz ppl i need some help!

my husband, a us citizen, went to us in the end of november 2006.

we have been married for 2.5 yrs but decided to move to US now.

on 30 november we got a notice saying that our documents have reached them

and after 6 months i chked the status online which said

On May 30, 2007, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service

now on 27 july i recieved the choice of agent form (one for me and one for my son)

my husband in US recived them as well (the choice of agent forms) a week before us

he fillled them up on my behalf and added the 70$ each fee too and sent it back!

can anyone tell me why did HE recieve those forms too?

was he supposed to fill them on his behalf and me on mine and THEN send them????

I don't think your question was clear. The process (give or take a few refinements) is that an I-130 is filed and needs to be approved by CIS before it's forwarded over to National Visa Center (NVC). Sounds like you are done with that. The NVC than sends the choice of agent forms to the which needs to filled out for who will be receiving further communications from NVC. Then comes $70 affidavit of support bill, than request for affidavit of support (I-864), next it's visa fee bill ($380), than request for immigration visa application (DS-230). After these the NVC finishes the case and sends it to Islambad for interview and further processing.

Your husband must have received a choice of agent form (DS-3032). The applicant needs to fill it out and send back. Or send them an email (in liu of DS-3032).
