I received an email, my wife's IR-1 interview is scheduled for end of November (!!). Good God! That is almost four months from now.

:(

I am sorry to read about your long wait and I saw your timeline and may you be rewarded sooner. Our paperwork went to Islamabad in July 2005 and our interview was not until December 12, 2005. I asked for them to move our interview up two times and it did not help in our case. SH you are petitioning for a wife so I would email them again and ask them to please consider moving your interview date up sooner if they have any available times open up.

Ali

All visa applicants have to have a medical before they can be issued a visa. The I-485 is the AOS I see my error before I rechecked it. When you AOS you must have the medical information from your prior visit if she did one in Pakistan. I know she can get a supplement for the shots since the medical is good for one year from the date.

Vaccination Requirements All applicants for immigrant visas are required to have the following vaccinations, if appropriate, for age, medical condition, or medical history:

  • Mumps
  • Measles
  • Rubella
  • Polio
  • Tetanus and diptheria toxoids
  • Pertussis
  • Influenza type B
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
  • Pneumococcal

As a fiancé(e), you are not required to fulfill this requirement at the time of your medical examination for a fiancé(e) visa. However, you may want to do so. These vaccinations are required when you adjust status following your marriage. *Mian had the dr decide what he needed for his CR1 and they did a few as well as an HIV test and xrays.*

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/ty...tml#Vaccination

I am not sure if this is what type of shots you are asking about?

Hafiz,

I listed all the shots that were required in the post of the K1 and it states on the USCIS website that you can skip the shots but must have them done at the time of the AOS. If she has not had her shots she will need to seek out a civil surgeon in the states and get them. They will determine what shots she needs and fill out a I-693A Supplemental Vaccination Report https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=of...office_type=CIV This link is for the authorized civil surgeons here in the US.

Is US embassy in Islamabad closed because of the Red Mosque issue?

Can someone tell me why COs are putting female's on AP?

Is it because of local investigation or are they running their name and fingerprints against FBI and CIA name/fingerprint check list?

Are they putting every female on AP? or just those who were either born or went abroad (middle east/Other parts of Asia) for visit/study?

Is US embassy in Islamabad closed because of the Red Mosque issue? I have not heard about them closing and know an applicant from Afghanistan CR1 male that has been on AP for some time was contacted and asked to submit his passport now. This was a few days ago.

Can someone tell me why COs are putting female's on AP? Dood ladies were not getting put into AP until mainly from last fall. They are checking fingerprints, name checks and a new security check called "Material Support" read about it on Amensity International and a few other places on the web. Indian ladies are also getting AP now. Material Support in a nutshell from my reading is that they check out the family as well as the applicant to make sure that they are not giving funds to support Al Qaida (sp) and this new checks is what I am thinking is catching the ladies now.

Is it because of local investigation or are they running their name and fingerprints against FBI and CIA name/fingerprint check list? Most Desi ladies are not getting the field investigations it is when a Pakistani male is marrying non Desi that I am seeing the field investigations from what I have found from chatting with others that have endured one.

Are they putting every female on AP? or just those who were either born or went abroad (middle east/Other parts of Asia) for visit/study?
