Whoops

Hey Symbiosis

Hope this helps

I'm confused about packet 3 (as I wait patiently for my fiancee's NOA2): NVC will send her the packet in Thailand? Do folks generally have it forwarded to the States to complete? I doubt she'll have a clear understanding as to how to fill it out.

after u get noa2 the NVC will mail it to the embassy, and then the embassy will mail packet 3 to her.

or she can get the forms online. try the example forms up on top, and u can help her.

Hey Jer 08

I downloaded all the packet 3 documents from the embassy web site and completed them all for her.

http://bangkok.usembassy.gov/immigrant_vis...structions.html

I put a "sticky note" on each document and told her where to sign and date. A couple of the documents she has to sign

in Thai so watch for those. I got all her info needed via emails and phone calls then completed the forms. I recommend printing out all the documnets and filling them out in pencil then going back on line and type in all the answers and then print the forms out.

The forms are in PDF format and you can not save the info unless you have Adobe Acrobat.

(If you only have Adobe Reader you can not save the info)

Hope this helps...let us now if you need more info

George

Hey george,

hi all!

i posted a question a couple of days ago asking what to do if you like my husband didn't get a copy of the medical report and could not get a copy from bumrungrad...well i found the answer!!!!! (hopefully no one needs it but just in case)

the civil surgeon in our case happens to a be a doctor i've known for years and his nurse told me to just have my husband go to a lab and get a blood test for the mmr antibody (meaning definitive proof of immunization). it takes about a week to get the result. once you have that it can get the civil surgeon to proceed with the remainder of the i-693a form for aos.

good luck all!

Hello Everyone...

When you email the Bangkok embassy how long does it take to get a response?

I emailed them a couple of days ago concerning my Fiancee has not received packet 3 from the embassy.

We downloaded all the forms from the website...but the site says not to send any documents unless your case is "pending" otherwise they will throw them away.

So...how do you know if your case is "pending".

She will be in Thailand Monday morning and we are ready to submit packet 3.

Thanks for any advise

George

Normally the next business day. Did you get the auto-reply? If you get the auto-reply, you won't get a response. Make sure you've got your formatting correctly, and use the visabkk2 email address.

George-Joom,

My lawyer was saying (and we did this) that you can send in your packet 3 once you think the embassy has received your approved I-129f petition. So, for example, we sent it out to the embassy like three or four days after NVC sent it out, i think.

We didn't know if the case was pending, but my lawyers knew what they were doing.

Also, it should take no more than 24 hours. If I email during Thailand business hours then they usually respond within a few hours, although there have been times when they haven't responded for a day or so, and a couple times where they didn't respond at all and I needed to keep sending the message to them until they responded. In all, I probably sent 25-30+ emails to the embassy haha.

I don't even know what the received and pending box is. Like birch-beer and I mentioned earlier, the best way is to just wait a couple days after the NVC sent your approved petition to the embassy, then send in your completed packet 3. You can't check the status of your petition online when it's at the embassy, but you can check to see when they've scheduled your interview date, as they updated the list of interview schedules monthly (or they're supposed to, but the person who's in charge of this should be fired as they never update it on time).

Our experience getting the police report yesterday:

After we arrived, we went to the information dudes desk., He went through the info I had put together from their

sheet. Well, sheet, he took out the photos I added, divorce papers, house copy. Everything except the noa1's, copies of both our passports (signed) marriage cert. copy. They had my wife fill out a form which I had to sign twice. Then she filled out her fingerprint form. She then got fingerprinted, and then took her photo. Gave her a paper saying come back in 7 business days and pick it up. Also, there is no mailing service. They didnt hit us up for any cash either. The "clerks" were very helpful and not a problem. ran very smoth. ITs just it ended up being different than is on the sheet given or what others went though.

Oh well, thats LOS.

Weird experience. My fiance only brought her house registration, ID, and cover letter from the packet 3. There was nothing for me to sign (I wasn't there), and they mailed the final report to her at home via EMS.

(I'm going for the IR-1 and blowing off the K-3. Even if it takes an extra couple months, it's worth it to not have to deal with USCIS again)

Note:

Please fill out I-130, wait 6 months for approval, then 3 more months for an interview. (Unless of course we've bombed your country into the stone age, then you qualify for expedited processing.)

Welcome to the USA!!!

So my fiance is coming tomorrow morning at 11:20 AM. About how long does it usually take for them to go through immigration? I live like 10 minutes from the airport. Do you think I should leave my house at around 12:00? I'm thinking 12 because maybe an hour through immigration possibly and baggage claim?

What do you guys think?

Thanks

Go early, grab some lunch, read the paper, buy her a gift, etc.

Really, it depends on where her flight is from. If she is coming direct from Asia, then I would get there early. I have flown direct from Asia and landed 1 1/2 hours early due to strong tailwinds (I have also been 2 hours late going to Asia due to strong headwinds). You may be able to go on the internet and check flight status (most airlines have live updates showing ETA of flights enroute).

p.s. And a big congratulations!
