there is always much confusion about TB skin tests. it doesn't help that lung specialists and infection specialists differ in opinion over some of the issues as well. additionally, the skin test is NOT perfect and not all people react to it and not all people place it correctly. it's not a very good test.

to mariadane- skin tests are NOT recommended in people who have had tuberculous in the past NOR positive skin tests before

I've NOT had Tuberculosis in the past!!! I did have a positive TB skin test in the past at High School but, The Health Authority in UK does NOT keep records of Immunizations beyond the age of 25 years so therefore i did not have documented proof of having a BCG nor did i have documented proof of having a Positive skin test result...so basically it was heresay! All i had was BCG scarring from my BCG immunization which the CS did check and also checked my chest X-Ray which was Clear, is drawing up a letter stating that i shouldnt have anymore TB skin tests that they will always be Positive(false-positive).
