Hello,

Hope all is good!

When completing the DS-260 form, I had filled the field requesting an address in the US with the mention ''Not known at this point''.

I have my medical examination next week, and the clinic asked me that I provide the address in the US that matches the one given to the consulate.

So it seems I have to come up with an address - and I assume this will be requested also when I have my interview at the consulate mid-March.

What is the purpose of that address? Is it to send the card later on? Does it need to be define now?

I see 2 options:

  1. provide the address of a friend in the US whom I know will be at the same address for a long time
  2. provide the address of a condo I own in Miami, but then the tenant is going to receive it so it's not optimal.

What would you suggest? or do you see another option?

On another note, to qualify it is requested to have a high school education if I'm not mistaken.

Does it work providing the proof of a BSc or MSc degree, or do we have to go back to grades obtained in high school?

Thank you very much!

Best

1. It will be used for sending your GC. Yes, it needs to be provided now.  Use the address you trust the most considering if that GC gets lost after it has been delivered, it will cost you a lot (currently $540 now plus several months of waiting) to get a replacement GC.
2. Some CO’s have been known to request to see the HS Diploma itself.

Thank you for your answer.

Are we able to change that address where the green card will be delivered later (e.g. at  the POE) to a different address than the one provided now?

For sure I would have a much better idea of my address in the future than just yet.

Thank you :)

Hello,

I have a couple of follow-up questions.

-Are the certificates/diplomas enough to support the minimum education requirement? (I've had my master's diploma translated, as well as the high school one as suggested earlier). Or should I also bring transcripts (and have them translated)?

-Do we need to bring supporting evidence for all work and education listed in the DS 260 form, although this isn't mentioned anywhere?

Thank you very much,
