I agree, mail from the NVC takes forever. Once they get the AOS and fee bill back, it won't take long for them to review, it was probably 2 weeks for us. They won't send you the application, just the coversheet that you need to send with the application and instructions on where to find the application that you need to fill out. You can access it at http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_1339.html. It's in Adobe format, so you can type in the information. Better yet, have your hubby access the application and fill it out, because they need his original signature, not a copy. Have him sign a couple of page 2, just in case the application gets misplaced by the NVC. That happened to us, so I had to have Aaron send a couple copies to me of his original signature. Also, after they get the AOS and fee bill, they will send you the checklist letter asking for the police certificates, birth certificate and marriage certificate. Best of luck my dear.

I agree. Have your spouse go and take care of those forms now and obtain the police cert. That way once your recv the DS-230 packet you will already have everything in order.

When a form has been "generated" or "sent" is two different things. NVC does a lot of there work automatically. So even those your Fee bill has been generated it will still take a few days for the mail to actually leave there bldg.

Nyseness, it seems like our papers from the NVC are being generated at the same time. My DS230 fee Bill was generated on 7/23 and the rep told me it was definitely mailed out to me last week...However, SNAIL mail. Seems like we are on the same schedule.

Hey Milan,

We've all been there and know how hard it is to keep strong. Just know that we are all here for you to vent. I was feeling this frustration last month, especially when I would tell Aaron that he needed to go get the police certificate done and sent to me ASAP. He went and did it, had a friend who worked with FedEx who was going to send it at a discount for us, but we lost 4 days because the guy could care less. He eventually had to have one of my best friends get it done for us. I was so frustrated, I cried the whole weekend, because in my mind he (my hubby) was sabotaging us being together. We've all been there, but it's always darkest before the dawn. Just think that you will have a VERY MERRY Christmas and a very HAPPY HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Hey JA TAM, I just realized that your time line said you would be waiting 8 weeks for an interview date. WOW..That seems like a long time for them just to schedule a date, however I feel like you will get your adte in the next 2 weeks.

On the automated system, the message says to wait 8 weeks for further instructions. I believe they will start scheduling the September interviews in the second week of August, so hopefully we're in that batch, with Jenice (USA-Jamaica). I feel pretty confident that we won't have to wait all that time.

Thanks alot Tam.... :innocent: Those words help alot. My Hubby is gonna give the certificate to my parents to bring back for me, so hat will be one thing outta the way. I am very excited about that. Hey, Tam, how do I do my Timeline in the format you have yours? I dont like the other Timeline format.'

Yeah. It helps..I think that now I am just being anxious aboout how long it takes for them to send the actual affidavit and Visa Fee Bill...I was hoping that getting everything back to NVC as soon as spossible would maybe get my husband into the September interviews, but who knows. Last night the rep at NVC said they schedule INTERVIEWS once a month so at the rate things are going he may not be in the Interview stage until October. :crying:

I am just feeling discouraged today. :crying:

No problem, that's why we're all here. Helps us to realize that we are not alone in this "journey" :D .

I finally broke down and worked on my timeline last night, when I should have been doing my final report for class (due on Friday :innocent: ). At the top of the screen there's a link My Controls. On the page it takes you to, look on the left hand side under Menu, look under Personal profile, click on edit signature. In here you can type your timeline. The anniversary countdown: if you click the countdown I have, it will take you to the Daisy Path website. It should walk you through doing your own. Copy the url information and paste it in the signature section as well.

Have fun
