Hello,

I have been trying to schedule IV appointment for my wife at the US embassy in Turkey. I got an email from them that i can schedule an appointment, but when I try to schedule, it says no appointments available.

  1. Does anyone know how to find out when the next batch will open up?
  2. How do they normally open up the appointments - is it on some schedule ?
  3. Is this published anywhere?

I am hoping it's because it's the holidays and January will bring some appoinemtns.

Normally NVC schedules the interview.  Did you miss the appointment or need to reschedule?

We were in a similar situation, but for rescheduling.  I emailed the embassy once a week and after the 3rd email they responded saying a couple of dates opened up.  I called my wife right away and she was able to see that those 2 days were available and rescheduled her interview.

Here's the email i got: "Please note that we will make available reissuance appointment slots on https://ais.usvisa-info.com/.  These appointments are limited and once they are taken, we are not able to guarantee additional availability for any months. "

I had logged in to the site and checked within a day, but there were no appointments. Have been checking since. Do you think I need to keep emailing them?

Also, another question - is there a max limit on how many days prior to a visa appointment can I get my health check done. Foe example, lets say visa appointment is Feb 1, how early can I do the health check - i remember something about no more than 30 days before the visa appointment - so that would be i could do it earliest on 1/1 and not in December.

I would email them again, stating that there were no dates available when you logged in and ask when any new days will open up.

There is no specific limit.  However, the visa expiry date depends on the medical date.  The visa will be valid for a maximum of 6 months from the date of the medical.
