Hi everybody. My fiancee and I are getting ready to apply for her K-1 visa. She is in the Philippines. We are looking for any advice that anybody who has gone through the process already from the Philippines to the US. Specifically any problems that you may have encountered and what could be done ahead of time to have smooth sailing through the process. A little about us. We do have a real and true relationship. We met online Sept 28, 2004. I visited the Philippines 2 times, once in Jan 05 and again in Aug 05, about 2.5 weeks each time. We have many pictures, phone bills, and many other things to prove our relationship is real. We do have an age difference. I am 47, she is 27. When we met I was still married, though legally separated. We know there are many posts about the process ppl went thru while getting K-1 visa. We are looking for tips that will help ensure we don't encounter any road blocks along the way. things that maybe you encountered along the way that u didn't expect. I will be filing at the Tx service center. thx in advance. will post our timeline shortly.

Get divorced. Make copies of everything. Send copies for the I-129F petition except original G-3325s. Circle the dates on receipts etc. so they are easier to notice. Put dates and location on the back of photos. After you get noa2, send the originals and 2 sets of copies to your fiancee. She will provide the originals for evidence and one set of copies for anything they want at her interview. The other set of copies is for immigration at POE when she comes here. Send in the correct amount of money for the petition. Age will not make a difference. Be honest about everything in your forms. Check, double check and triple check all forms before submitting them. Be patient. Be patient. Be patient. Have I forgotten anything?

One thing specific about the Philippines process is the long wait from the time the Embassy in Manila recieves your petition until u are assigned a interview date between 4 - 6 months. Philippines medical exams must be done at St. Luke medical center and its in Manila, so if your from the province travel can be an issue, since the medical exam is before the interview usually by 1 week, so its stay in manila hotel for a week or pay airfare or travel expenses to and from twice.

Keep all the photos when you were together plus family of your fiance if you have! You must have both copies of that,Keep your plane ticket too when you traveled twice to the phils,Letters,Hotel receipts if you have, print emails and remember where and when you met bec. the consul might ask your fiance...tell your fiance to get passport, orignl Birthcertificate, apply for police certificate one month before her interview for the visa bec. us embassy like to see fresh police certificates(easy to get if she never been out from the phils. bec.if she stayed in abroad atleast 6 mos. then she must apply for police certificate there takes 45 days). Send her a letter of intent(willing to marry her w/in 90 days after she arrive in USA) before her interview and fill up the G-325 A 4 copies and she must sign it that includes when you file/send I-29 fiance visa to petition her.Ask her mom and sister too if they can make a letter of intent that they like you and prove that your fiancee really loves you and willing to marry you(you can include that in filing the I-29F).You need Divorce decree document too,3 years income tax return. You and your Fiancee need photos needed for the I-29F petition.
